The manual is intended for conducting laboratory classes with second-year students studying at the Department of Physical Chemistry of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in the English-language bachelor's degree courses in the field of biomedical engineering. This textbook is not specialized, but it takes into account the specific requirements of the Bachelor's program in Biological and Medical Physics. The laboratory manual for the course “Organic chemistry” includes a theoretical section that describes the techniques of organic synthesis and traditional physical and chemical methods of analyzing organic substances, as well as a practical section with seven labs. The first lab provides basic skills for purifying the product from a reaction mixture. The remaining practical labs consist of several synthetic tasks grouped under the same reaction type, which include the methods of synthesis and purifying of the product, but also the method of its identification. This manual will be useful not only for students studying chemistry, but also for those who teach this subject.
