The book is devoted to the construction of numerical gridcharacteristic methods for solving a linear one-dimensional transport equation that arises in the problems of transport of suspended particles in a liquid, gas dynamics and dynamic problems of an elastic body. On the example of acoustic and linear elasticity systems, an approach is considered that allows their solution by sequentially solving several transport equations. It is intended for students studying computer science and computational mathematics, in the form of practice on the implementation of computational algorithms in the C language.
